Inaugurated in 1990, the CIPF has specialized in the discovery and characterization of monoclonal antibodies. Aisni, the Centre is actively involved in research against cancer.

The CIPF is composed of six departments, all related to oncology: Biochemistry, Industrial Biotechnology, Experimental Oncology, Physical Chemistry, Quality and Unit Molecular and Cellular Biology

The Antibody Biotechnology Unit is the site of bioproduction of Immunology Centre Pierre Fabre. It is essential in oncology research.
